{"id":19069,"date":"2025-07-05T07:54:48","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T07:54:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oshaoutreachcourses.com\/press\/?p=19069"},"modified":"2026-02-12T18:54:37","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T18:54:37","slug":"state-of-workplace-safety-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oshaoutreachcourses.com\/press\/state-of-workplace-safety-report\/","title":{"rendered":"OSHAOutreachCourses.com State of Workplace Safety Survey 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the first half of <strong>2025<\/strong> comes to a close, OSHA Outreach Courses reached out to workers through email and social media, hoping to get insights into how they are perceiving safety at worksites.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>80%<\/strong> of the respondents for our <strong>2025<\/strong> State of Workplace Safety Survey were construction workers, while others worked in manufacturing, logistics, and retail. We asked these <strong>500 workers<\/strong> a series of questions related to their perception of workplace safety and the protocols within their organizations to keep employees safe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While some data suggests employees feel moderately prepared, several alarming findings indicate significant gaps in safety protocols that could expose workers to unnecessary risks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">10% Workers Feel Very Unsafe at Work<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To start, we asked workers how safe they felt at work. While 22% feel \u201cvery safe\u201d at work and 36% respondents felt \u2018safe\u2019, nearly 42% reported feeling either neutral, unsafe, or very unsafe. This suggests that nearly half of the workforce does not have strong confidence in their safety on the job. Of these 42%, 10% respondents explicitly expressed feeling unsafe, which reflects a critical reality that organizations need to address immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">18% Workers Say Their Workplaces Don\u2019t Organize Safety Drills<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although <\/span>35% of workplaces conduct monthly drills<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an unsettling <\/span>18% never organize any drills at all<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This inconsistency raises red flags, especially in industries where emergency preparedness is essential. Despite <\/span>60% feeling very confident<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in handling emergencies, the lack of regular drills for some workers might lead to complacency and put them at risk during emergencies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">9% Workers Say Their Safety Concerns Are Ignored\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another troubling insight is that only 26% of employees feel their safety concerns are \u201calways\u201d taken seriously by management <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">while 4% feel it is taken seriously most of the time.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A significant 61% say their concerns are taken seriously only \u201csometimes,\u201d with 9% reporting that their concerns are outright ignored. This indicates a communication gap between workers and management, undermining trust and potentially allowing hazards to go unaddressed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">33% Workers Say They Don\u2019t Receive Online Safety Training<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On a more positive note, <\/span>88% reported that safety equipment and PPE are always available<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span>100% know the location of emergency exits<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Additionally, <\/span>61% said their workplace offers online safety training<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, though the <\/span>33% who don\u2019t receive it<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> still represent a missed opportunity to reinforce safety practices.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The Path Forward: Closing the Gaps in Safety<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked what sorts of improvements they would like to see, the respondents mentioned communication, cooperation, and ongoing training as areas that need attention.
