The US Dept of Labor DOL has filed a lawsuit claiming that a Texas hotel unlawfully terminated an employee who pursued medical attention for carbon monoxide poisoning.

In Huston, Tanvir Shahmohd and All Seasons Hospitality and Investments LLC breached the workers’ rights by firing them for disclosing dangerous working practices and obtaining medical attention against carbon monoxide exposure. Staff who exercise their right to raise safety issues without fear of punishment are protected by the United States Department of Labor. The department’s complaint, brought on March 25, 2021, demands that the court instruct the defendants to comply with the anti-retaliation clauses of the Workplace Safety and Health Act, reinstate the worker, remove the worker’s personnel record, and compensate the worker unpaid pay, interest, money damages, and other relief.DOL has filed a lawsuit claiming that a Texas hotel unlawfully terminated an employee who pursued medical attention for carbon monoxide poisoning.
