Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) Overview for Drivers (US)
In 2010, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, or FMCSA, implemented the Compliance, Safety, Accountability, or CSA, program in response to an increasing number of accidents, injuries and fatalities involving commercial motor vehicles on U.S. roadways. The CSA program introduces new compliance and enforcement standards for the FMCSA and its state partners who will proactively contact a large number of carriers and drivers to address safety deficiencies. The CSA program also includes a new nationwide system that will make our roadways safer for motor-carrier drivers and the general public. The CSA program impacts both employers and drivers. It affects how you do your job and, potentially, your career and livelihood.
