Training Process

This DOT HAZMAT Awareness course is designed to help workers meet the mandatory initial and refresher training requirements for employees handling hazardous materials, as outlined by DOT requirements and OSHA regulations. It reinforces knowledge from prior training and ensures that participants are aware of current safety standards and procedures. Additional Training Depending on the specific workplace, job responsibilities, or regulatory obligations, supplemental training may be necessary. The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) or designated supervisor is responsible for notifying workers of any additional training required to perform their duties safely. Site-Specific, Employer-Provided Training Workers must also receive training that addresses hazards unique to their work environment. Understanding of the general awareness and function-specific instruction include proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response procedures, and any site-specific safety procedures
