These requirements, regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (or DOT), are divided into five subparts: general information and regulations; loading and unloading of hazardous materials; segregation of hazardous materials; vehicle and shipment accidents; and regulations for motor vehicles carrying passengers for hire.
