OSHA Online Training In New Jersey

Being one of the most densely populated states, New Jersey is an important industrial center and transport corridor. Since it shares a long history with industrial development and research, inventing world-changing innovations like the LCD screen, color television, and the videotape recorder, New Jersey plays a vital role in the state and the country's economy through its technology and telecommunications. The state is also recognized for producing pharmaceutical products, chemicals, machinery, electronic equipment, and processed food items. The OSHA New Jersey State Plan governs New Jersey training requirements. The regulatory body of New Jersey is called The New Jersey Public Employees Occupational Safety and Health (PEOSH), which regulates the county, state, and local government authorities. Why Is It Necessary To Take OSHA New Jersey Certification?

PEOSH has enforced most of the OSHA New Jersey Standards and Regulations other than a few of them, which are listed down below:

  • 29 CFR 1910 Subpart L is replaced by PEOSH Standards for Firefighters (NJAC 12:100-8)
  • OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200/NJAC 12:100-7) is based on the Federal Standards

OSHA New Jersey State Plan consists of two separate standards and four agencies, which the employees and employers in New Jersey must abide by. Still, the good thing is that most of the Safety Training Standards have a common ground or similarity.

Coming towards the public companies, listed down below are the administrations that need to be followed:

  • The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDLWD) is the regulatory body that enforces Standards and accommodates safety complaints.
  • The department responsible for health hazards complaints and the implementation of Indoor Air Quality Standards is The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH)
  • Regular and complaint-specific inspections under the regulatory body of NJDLWD are directed by the Office of Public Workers' Occupational Safety and Health (OPEOSH)

Nevertheless, private companies do not follow OSHA New Jersey State Plan Standards, as they are directed to follow Federal OSHA Training Standards. As far as public companies are concerned, they need to strictly follow OSHA New Jersey State Plan training Standards and meet Federal OSHA training requirements. Still, both regulatory bodies have mutuality between their Standards, so it's easy to meet them.

Some of the OSHA New Jersey State Plan Standards are new, and they do not have any similarities with Federal Standards, such as:

  • Indoor Air Quality Standard (NJAC 12:100-13)
  • Indoor Firing Ranges Standard (NJAC 12:100-8)

OSHA New Jersey Safety training courses are mostly called DOL Cards and are not obliged to be completed by any worker. Still, some employers may want you to take OSHA New Jersey Certifications on 10-hour & 30-hour construction training.
